Looking back at my work in years, gone by as guitar maker, I am sure that my decision to make my dreams come true and develop my skills as guitar builder had been the right one. Despite all those teething problems, my absolute conviction to achieve the best hand craft expertise necessary for guitar making, remained unshakeable. I found the courage to follow my promising career and so I turned my back on a secure income source and began my self taught occupation, despite some well meant warnings. At the beginning, my limited funds did not allow me to buy expensive tools or practical machinery. I also had to use a modestly converted shed for workshop. Baggers can't be choosers. Even if it had not been easy at the beginning, I did never regret my decission. Fascination and exitement for my job guaranteed my success, and I didn't have to wait long for first results. After a very intensive period of research, I reached the key-stage in September 1993: The first prototype had been completed, an acoustic guitar made with a very special wood, an innovative design and a particular kind of velvet finishing. From that initial enthusiasm for music I plunged into countless working hours in which I developed various models. I used different types of wood for their sound and quality, which had all been tested for their resistance to static and daily use by many musicians, who had been asked to try out my guitars. The effort paid dividends. My own company, Bachmann Guitars, with the inimitable ibex-logo, had been set up. Impressed by my performance, renowned musicians supported me more and more frequently, and encouraged me to produce also E - Guitars and Basses. Those have been launched for the first time in the year 1996. Since then I've made continuous efforts to develop further, to improve and refine. I consider each creation as a new challenge, which inspires me to experiment, and in most cases leads me to success. An example is a particular guitar, realized with unique wooden Titan rods and reduced neck weight by 50%. It has proven to be an excellent adaptation. I really care about the selection of genuine woods, which is very important and which I do personally. After many years of seasoning, the wood is matured and perfectly dried, this is fundamental to guarantee a high quality end-product. Nowadays, i have very satisfied customers all over the world. And at the end.. I would like to thank all those, that contributed to make my dream come true and encouraged me to make this important step. Among them, there are many friends and musicians, that were critical but always very precious conversation partners. |
